Man, what a wild few weeks it's been. I'm sitting here at 2am, redbull in hand, trying to process everything that's happened. I'm genuinely grateful for the opportunities that have come my way, but holy shit am I stressed right now.
First, I got hired to work on MUGEN this game has over 93 million visits and 400k+ favorites. The combat system is insane, and being part of a project with that kind of reach is honestly mind-blowing. Then, out of nowhere, I land a role on Tennis: Zero as Lead Programmer/Developer. Tennis: Zero is already hitting hundreds of millions of visits, and I'm responsible for the core systems and physics implementation.
I keep pinching myself lol. These aren't just any games we're talking about some of the most successful titles on the platform. The responsibility is massive, but the learning opportunities are even bigger. Every day I'm working with systems that millions of players interact with.
But here's the thing I'm absolutely maxing out my time management skills right now. I've got two exams coming up (because apparently I thought taking on massive game projects while in school was a good idea), and I'm doing a solo update for Tennis: Zero. My calendar looks like a war zone, and my sleep schedule is... well, let's just say it's more of a suggestion at this point :3
The pressure is real, but so is the excitement. I'm learning more in these past few weeks than I have in months. The code quality standards, the performance requirements, the user experience expectations everything is dialed up to 11. It's exhausting, but it's the kind of exhaustion that comes from doing work you're genuinely passionate about.
I'm fortunate beyond words. Not everyone gets to work on games with this kind of impact. The stress is temporary, but the experience and connections I'm building will last forever. Time to grind, I guess. Redbull's getting warm lol.
